Pantone Announces Living Coral As the 2019 Color of the Year - GSP

Every year, Pantone picks a new color to best represent the year ahead, and this year they’ve named “Living Coral” as the color for 2019. When choosing their annual hue, Pantone considers a variety of trends based upon what’s happening in the world of fashion, décor, technology, art, music, travel, and even social media.

According to Pantone, 2019 is the year we should surround ourselves with nature and its beautiful shades. These color experts firmly believe Living Coral illustrates an “innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits” and “authentic and immersive experiences that enable connection and intimacy.”

The 2019 color choice, PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral, is an animating self-affirming color or orange hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge. “Just as coral reefs are a source of sustenance and shelter to sea life, vibrant yet mellow, Pantone 16-1546, Living Coral embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment,” described Pantone.
