GSP’s Award-Winning Foodservice Designs
GSP’s Design Services team received top honors by the American Graphic Design Awards, a national design competition, for two retail branding projects.
GSP won in the POP/Displays/Signs category for a project to draw more attention to the convenience retailer’s coffee in stores. The signage features a simple color palette with whitewashed wood, lifestyle imagery and fun coffee statements that reinforce the theme of “Life begins with great coffee.” The project is in the process of being rolled out now.
Additionally, the judges also honored GSP in the branding/identity category on a food court design for future stores of a leading grocery retailer. Five distinct food brands were created that could be used to comprise a new food court. Each brand has its own graphics package that consists of naming, logo, back wall design, menu system, apparel and packaging to tie it all together.
For five decades, Graphic Design USA magazine has spotlighted the best in design work with its annual competition that spans multiple mediums, including point-of-purchase, interactive, print, packaging and more. The competition has become the standard for the industry and a point of pride for the design community.
“We’re proud of the work we did for our clients. They always challenge us with great projects we love to do. We design with their needs in mind first – but it’s also very nice for our talented staff to be recognized by GDUSA as among the best in graphic design,” said Steven Cohen, GSP’s Vice President of Design Services.
Cohen was impressed by how highly selective the competition was. “Less than 15 percent of the record-number of nearly 10,000 entries was even awarded with a certificate of excellence. That means we were up against design firms, ad agencies and corporations from across the nation. All of our clients should be proud of the caliber of creativity they are receiving from GSP,” he added.
