NACS Show Takeaways: What Convenience Retailers Need to Know

October 29, 2026 – After catching up following the NACS Show, we asked our team to share their biggest takeaways from the show floor, educational sessions and conversations with industry peers. From the role of AI to the importance of in-store experiences, foodservice marketing and convenience store signage, here’s what stood out.

NACS Show Takeaways: What Convenience Retailers Need to Know

What We Heard at the NACS Show: Industry Takeaways

“My colleagues tried to get into the sessions about women in the c-store industry, but they were filled up. I love this industry and the changes it’s going through.” – Alletta Jackson, Director of National Accounts, Circle K

“I heard about how brands are sizing up automated check-out vs. the personal touch with human interaction at the POS. When it comes to upselling and cross-selling, which do you think the customer trusts more, technology or human engagement?” – Shane Delaney, Vice President of National Accounts

“One thing that stood out to me was the focus on signage to drive food trial, with less attention to leveraging food photography that communicates ingredient quality and differentiates a retailer’s food offering.” – Geoff Neuhoff, CEO

“There were plenty of sessions on AI which is understandable, but the ballrooms that were packed, focused on the importance of the guest experience in-store. Being craveable and delicious at a value drives conversion.” – Margaret Sotrop, EVP of Retail Growth

“The key takeaway from the Foodservice Fundamentals session was you have to show customers what’s inside. From the street to the pump to the food counter, visibility drives awareness and foodservice sales.” – Steve Judy, Sales Executive

“I saw lots of promotion about protein products and sweet-n-spicy flavors. This can only mean one thing…General Tsao’s Chicken is about to become huge.” – Paul Sotrop, Content Strategist

From AI and the customer experience to foodservice and in-store promotions, one thing was clear at NACS: convenience retailers are always looking for ways to connect with customers and drive sales. And signs still play an important role in turning awareness into action, from the pumps to the food counter.

Thanks to everyone who connected with us in Las Vegas. We enjoyed the conversations and look forward to seeing you next year in Atlanta!

Our Brand Story

GSP started as a printing company in1978. We found our niche supplying in-store signage for convenience stores when retailers guessed quantities they needed. This led to overage, waste and expense. To solve this, we developed software to guarantee on-time delivery of “the right size sign, to the right store, every time.”

In 2014, we started AccuStore with a dedicated team. As software helped drive our growth, we realized that new printing and fulfillment sites near customers could drive business and improve sustainability. We acquired companies that fit GSP’s technical excellence and superior customer service models.

First was Great Big Pictures in Madison, WI in 2015. They lead the field in large format printing and visual merchandising for iconic fashion retailers. Their standards for customer service include award-winning sustainability programs, and expertise to bolster retail environments services.

In 2020, GSP acquired Custom Color in Lenexa, KS. The company supplies printed graphics to leading retailers. Custom Color’s stellar quality in fabric printing also aligns with GSP’s values.

GSP provides branding and marketing services with a focus on site-specific execution to help transform our customers’ growth strategies into store-level success. We design retail environments to engage shoppers and provide superior customer experiences. AccuStore powers our retail marketing, execution and digital display technologies and ensures stores get only what they need. GSP is a forward-thinking company that’s here to serve retailers now, with a focus on their future.

GSP delivers graphics and digital marketing to over 75,000 retail locations. Our experts provide retail branding and marketing services, focused on site-specific execution. Our methods ensure stores get only the POP they need, at the lowest cost. Our Retail Environments team creates and deploys amazing, in-store shopping experiences.
